This year I would love to continue in my usual posts but also hear more from my lovely readers and what they want to read! (That’s you!) Anyone have any topics they would particularly like to read about more? Some of my top read posts are of me doing something for an amount of time to monitor and analyze the results. Any diet fads you would like my opinion on? Or, do you want some more workouts targeting specific parts of the body?

I am looking to grow in terms of collaboration. I adore so many other bloggers and would love to team up, so please reach out to me if you have any ideas!

Fitness, health and beauty brands I’m looking to grow my brand involvement this year and would love to hear more about your brand’s offerings!

If you are interested in collaborating, email me at [email protected].

Have you connected with A Latte Lipstick on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter and Pinterest? I’d love to connect and follow you back!

Finding The Right Wedding Dress for You

January 9, 2016 1 Comment

My dress has been found at Moliere Bridal and I’m filled with excitement for December 10!  I mean, let’s be honest, what you wear is one of the most important things on your wedding day, besides the groom, maybe. Finding the dress and the arrival of 2016 just made everything seem more real and I’m about to go full force into wedding planning mode.

There are 5 important things to consider when picking the right wedding dress for you on your big day!

First, make sure that you feel comfortable in it. There is nothing worse then an uncomfortable looking bride. Immediately brings the cringe worthy visions of Julia Roberts in Runaway Bride racing off on a horse, wedding dress flying in the wind.

Second, get a dress that you won’t be terrified to look back to in photos. Don’t do the super trendy thing that is happening right now. Think of how good you thought that outfit looked on you a few years ago and how you look back at it in pictures now. Yeah, I know you know the outfit I’m talking about.

Dress for YOUR body, not a models that you saw in a magazine. If the model was tall and thin and your short and curvy, odds are it won’t look the same on you. If there is one day to feel amazing in your own skin, it’s your wedding day!

Consider others opinions, and also know what your future husband likes, but really think about what you will be happiest walking down the aisle in. It’s your day and your choice. Remember that when choosing who will go with you when you’re trying them on. I kept it easy peasy and just took my momma and sister.

Lastly, stay on the budget that you made for yourself. That simple.

You better believe that I will be dancing my head off at my wedding so I did consider this in my purchase too! So do consider if you are going to need to get your grove on. 🙂

How adorable is this little sketch that comes from a great Wedding Planning book that my sweet cousin got for me?

What did you consider when picking the right wedding dress for you?

The start of a new year is the time to challenge yourself and break past any barriers!

For me, I like to start the year off extra healthy! After all, it is my official WE’RE GETTING MARRIED year! Got to get in the best shape of my life because you’re only a bride once!

For you, maybe you have other big things happening this year that you want to look your best for, reunion perhaps? Or maybe you need to lose weight to regain your health? Or simply want to rid your body of some unnecessary ick? Whatever the reason, join me and let’s support each other through this 3 Month Challenge!

3 month challenge

3 Month Challenge is as follows –>

Month of January – No alcohol!

Month of February – No dairy!

Month of March – No dessert!

3 month challenge

I’m also currently in a battle with my skin and I’d love to see which of the following toxins will help my skin the most. Who is the biggest culprit? Alcohol, sugar or dairy?? Now that will be interesting to see!

If you’re feeling extra powerful and motivated, add on to the challenge each month so that by the end you are having no alcohol, no dairy AND no dessert! You go girl!

Who wants to join me in the 3 Month Challenge? Which will be your hardest month?

4 Powerful Quotes to Inspire You for 2016

January 3, 2016 Leave a Comment

inspiring quotes

I’m such a fan of inspiring quotes. They can truly help you through poor situations and encourage you to throw the hat into the ring when you need an extra shove. Because no one else will throw your hat, you must! Check out these inspiring quotes!

Some of my new favorite quotes come from an awesome book I got from a sweet friend for Christmas. Have you heard of, or read, Brave Enough by Cheryl Strayed? She is the author of Wild, and I have fallen in love with her mind and inspiring spirit.

inspiring quotes

In Brave Enough, she discusses the power of quotes and how important and motivating they can be to move you forward in those more difficult times of your life or those particularly challenging situations, or just a bad case of the blahs. The human spirit can quickly become discouraged, but can equally quickly become inspired. If needed, read some quotes and change your attitude!

inspiring quotes

Here were some of my favorite powerful, inspiring quotes in the book –>

It isn’t too late. Time is not running out. Your life is here and now. And the moment has arrived at which you’re finally ready to change.

How powerful is that? Too often people think the time has come and gone and that the moment was missed. But it doesn’t have to be gone, you are the one running your life and making those calls. There are no rules. Do it!

This is not the moment to wilt into the underbrush of your insecurities. You’ve earned the right to grow.

Talk to me Cheryl. I just love that quote and what it means. When the time comes to shine and move on, then move forward and move confidently. You have gotten yourself to this point so don’t shy away now. Shoulders back, smile on.

We all get stuck in place on occasion. We all move backward sometimes. Every day we must make the decision to move in the direction of our intentions. Forward is the direction of real life.

I love this one too. It infuriates me when I feel like I’m stuck in a time that I can’t get out of. Just dig on out of the hole and keep trudging forward. It’s not always easy but you gotta do it. Or, you’ll shrivel up and die. Ha. Extreme maybe…but is it??

We were all sluts in the ’90s.

Now this is not true for me, or, that would be disturbing and way to soon to venture toward that, but I just loved how this was mixed in with all of her powerful, inspiring words of wisdom. Her personality and quirky characteristics are found in some of her quotes and I love her fun attitude.

Be about ten time more magnanimous than you believe yourself capable of being. Your life will be a hundred times better for it.

I just love the word magnanimous and love this quote. Need some more motivation? Check out these quotes.

I also like to plan a word for me each year that I promise to live up to. My word of the year for me is FEARLESS. I’ve wasted too much time being nervous and worrying about something that never happens. This year I resolve to not let anything hold me back!!! What will be your word?

Let’s all disperse from the Internet, or mobile device in your hand and go be better people and make shiz happen! 2016 is the year for it!
