1 Tip to Live Healthy Through Habit

Habits are a great tool to live a healthy lifestyle. You can sneakily manipulate your brain to do what you want, even when you are not motivated and exhausted. Did you know that about 40 percent of what you do each day aren't actual decisions, but habits? This fact is really powerful and exciting because you are in charge of the habits you form so once you form healthy ones, you will subconsciously be making healthy decisions. Brilliant!

Picture yourself toned, healthy and happy. Set the right habits, and you're there girl!

To be honest, working out is not hard for me anymore. Not because I'm just awesome, but because I have formed this habit and stuck with it. It feels natural and normal and would feel strange to skip.

Delicious Spicy Pumpkin Seeds

Have you carved a pumpkin yet?

Pumpkin carving is the best because you not only get in that festive spOoOoky mood, but you also get to make the yummiest snack - pumpkin seeds!

Do you know how much health is packed into these little seeds? This snack brings magnesium which improves your flexibility by loosening tight muscles, alkalizes the body, and is also good for digestion. Pumpkin seeds have zinc that help to build immunity, balance your mood, and improve your sense of taste and smell.

Trouble sleeping? Eat a handful of pumpkin seeds. They contain a rich source of tryptophan that converts into serotonin, which is then turned into melatonin. Such a great natural sleep aid!

Manageable DIY Projects for Amateurs

You will hardly ever see a DIY post on this blog. I simply don't have the patience to create things and they typically end up as frustration and an "over it" attitude. My excitement slowly fades for a project as the hot glue gun is finally heated. That means I waste money and effort on supplies and then don't do a good job at it. I hate that. So, I have come to terms with this and have classified myself as not a good DIY-er.

But that doesn't mean I'm not intrigued by DIY's and will still read the heck out of them. Occasionally some look actually manageable and I'm tempted to try it out. When will I ever learn?

3 Makeup Steps You're Forgetting

There are some very simple ways to glamify yourself by simply paying a little more attention to three distinguishable features. It's quite simple, yet overlooked. Work the lashes, shape the brows, and pucker the lips!

1. Pay attention to your eyebrows.

They are more important then you think. If you don't believe me, take a look at this post on celebrities and their eyebrows. Eyebrows shape your eyes and are in quite a prominent space on your face. Treat them right by shaping them, filling them in, trimming them and not tweezing them to death. They're your friends.

How-to Throw a Frozen Princess Party

Don't you wish that life was more like a fairytale? What if we all really had flowing hair, amazing singing voices, fairy god mothers, and crowns? Perfect Dazzling Princesses.

My sweet baby second cousins got their dream come true at their Frozen Princess party, hosted by the Queen herself, their momma. Ella is the sweetest older sister and had a blast showing her little sister how to wear her crown and pose in "Princess Poses." Ella turned four and little Lucy turned two.

Of course the party had to have a guest appearance by the one and only Elsa. She glided in with "Let it Go" playing from her phone, needless to say, each girl's face lit up instantly. Elsa graced the party full hair, makeup, costume and stole the heart's of many smiling little girls. We witnessed dreams coming true. If you are looking to throw a Frozen Princess Party with Elsa, she was great!

Now, there are some needed essentials for throwing a successful Frozen Princess Party::

Dazzling Medallions to Adorn Your Neck

Medallions are currently everywhere! Gold, silver, rose gold, bright colors, there are many different medallion options to choose from when it comes to adorning your neck. I love how some medallion necklaces are delicate enough to be worn daily, while others can be very intricate and an awesome statement piece. I can't get enough of these goodies!

I'm obsessed with these gold medallions by designer Andrea Barnett. Andrea and her team design these medallions from Dallas, TX. They are crafted with genuine semi precious stones, like turquoise, green opal, coral, freshwater pearls and many more. She hand selects these jewels, guaranteeing the very best!

Best Color of Fall

Military green is big this fall and I'm having no problems making it a staple this season. I'm enjoying wearing this color in my pants, jewelry, scarves, and anywhere I can possibly add it in. Green has always been one of my favorites! Dare I even say that camo is coming back? Please, oh please!

Button-Up: Michael Stars/Necklace: JCrew/ Jeans: JCrew/ Pumps: Gianni Bini

Adore this shirt incorporating two of my favorites this fall, plaid and military green. Michael Stars is my one of my go-to brands when it comes to comfy and cute. My fall wardrobe would be incomplete without this brand. The tops are good quality and to die for soft. If you're in the OKC area, I find all my Michael Stars at R Meyers in Nichols Hills.

5 Tips to Waking Up Early - And Not Hating It

Are you a morning person, or a night owl?

Being the prior is better for your health and beneficial for productivity. Waking up early causes your brain activity to peak around 9 am, while a night owl brain doesn't peak until 9 pm! If you're a freelancer, doctor/nurse, or have crazy work hours, that works for you. However, if you function on a normal schedule, waking early is clearly better!

From an emotional level, it's proven harmful to stay up late. Night owls usually have decreased connectivity of white matter inside their brain, which is a physiological symptom related to depression!

The difficulty of changing from an owl to an early bird is not beyond me, but you have to keep in mind what's best for your schedule. I begrudgingly realized that it was time for me to become an early bird for my working girl lifestyle. My past self would be shocked and impressed at my successful transformation.

Not only are there health benefits for this, but also increased productivity! When I wake up early, I get so much more done! You could say it's the quiet before the storm. It's my time that I enjoy getting work done and appreciating that calm feeling and stillness of the morning. Nothing can get in my way but the task at hand. And of course, uninterrupted coffee adoration.

I'll be honest with you, it wasn't easy to make the change. But so worth it! Here are some tips that drastically helped me in making the switch.

5 Sneaky Ways to Stay Healthy at the Workplace

What's your workplace like in terms of being health - conscious? I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess that most offices aren't helping your diet.

Sorry to break it to you, but when you sit on your bum all day it can't be fixed with a workout at the end of the day. Research found that being sedentary all day (even with a workout after included) you're still prone to health risks like diabetes, hypertension, obesity, etc. P.S. this is not me giving you an out for your workout ;) But this proves you must get moving during the day!

Moving around helps to ward off snacking cravings too. If you are at a standing desk and putting in some squats, stretches, and perhaps an occasional dance move, chances are you wont be as tempted by sugary office treats.

So don't fear dear, there are many ways you can stay healthy during your work day! Once you get in the habit, it will no longer seem like your even trying and become subconscious! Check out the 5 sneaky ways you can get your body moving and healthy.
