I’m starting a new series of Week in Reviews (WIR) on the blog to give you an update on what I’m eating, my workouts, my life, etc. Let me know if you’re curious about anything and I’ll include it! I enjoy reading posts like these from other bloggers so thought I’d join in! It will be a good way to share with you while holding myself accountable to eating well, working out, living fully and celebrating life. Each week has something to celebrate!
Celebrating…
This weekend I got to get together with my sweet friends for a low-key Ladies Night, which we hadn’t gotten to do in wayyyy too long. We enjoyed some pizza, wine, and each other’s company. I’m very thankful for such amazing friends that I can share my life with and talk candidly 🙂
Fitness…
Group Fitness: Body Pump and Body Combat
This week I practiced new tracks for Les Mills Body Pump 103 and Body Combat 73. I never really like them at the beginning but end up loving them after the first couple weeks. Combat is a tough one to learn but always so much fun. I’m always dead after launch week.
Body Pump had some new moves in 103 so I really enjoyed the change up and challenge it’s going to put me and the class through this week.
Yoga/Pilates:
I didn’t get to as many pilates and yoga classes as I should have, the week got busy. Stretching and toning is key when you weight lift regularly so I’ve really been working on my flexibility and mobility. Plus, I like to go to at least three to justify the membership costs. Sheesh!
Cardio:
I didn’t get in as much cardio as I wanted to either and plan to focus on more going into next week. I have lost some muscle and am looking to lose some body fat. I plan to do some more fasted cardio this upcoming week.
Eating…
Sweet Potato Quinoa Chili
Meal prep makes a huge difference in my week and hitting my goals. I made this delicious chili to last me through the week for my lunch.
Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Bread
Since it’s officially October I figured it was time to do some proper seasonal baking. I made a delicious Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Bread this week and enjoyed too much 😉 I felt less guilty since it’s naturally sweetened with honey, made with whole wheat flour, and no butter! Trying to really keep an eye on my dairy and fat intake after the cholesterol issue.
Personal Growth…
It’s so important to surround yourself with people who lift you up. The past couple weeks I’ve surrounded myself with some amazing women. I’m a 413 Fitness Ambassador and love getting together with Erika to hear updates on her growing company and share our goals and plans. She was so sweet to walk me through some goal setting for the next 1, 5, and 10 years. While I wasn’t quite as sure as I’d like to be with my goals, it has really got me thinking and praying on them, which is key to discovering yourself and pushing yourself forward.
How was your week? What did you celebrate? Any good workouts or meals I should do or make?
