Power of Green Smoothies

January 18, 2015 1 Comment

Smoothies have been in the US since the 1930s! Back then they only included ice and fruit, but today they have evolved to include additional goodness like protein, wheatgrass, seeds, and more, making it a great healthy meal replacement option.

Victoria Boutenko started and popularized the green smoothie after studying the effect of greens on chimpanzees. The US human diet consists of about 3% of greens while the chimpanzees had about 39% and were much more resistant to disease than humans. She then popularized the idea of green smoothies. Now many people consume green smoothies daily and use them to cleanse their body and heal illness.

Did you know that the essential ingredient in your greens (chlorophyll) assists in purifying your blood, and reduces the development of body odor and bad breath? It does. Also greens are alkaline which balances your ph, which additionally fixes thousands of health problems. Juices are a great way to get in all those veggies that are difficult to get in a single day. They provide a lot of natural energy; one juice or smoothie a day can help increase health, liveliness, and maintain weight.

Not only are juices healthy for the inside of your body, it shows on the outside. Getting enough greens can greatly improve the look of your skin, making it appear more youthful and clearing acne and other skin problems.

Evolution Fresh is doing a super awesome 3 day Challenge that I am going to be doing this week so I thought I would share with you! It’s easy. All you have to do is buy three green juices and have one each day, for three days.

I especially like this challenge because you aren’t getting rid of anything, rather adding something deliciously healthy to your diet. And who doesn’t want to add more nutrients and health to their day? More energy? Yes!

Their juices are made with 1 pound of vegetables, less than 10 grams of sugar, and has none of that ick added of preservatives or sweeteners. When juices are pasteurized to prolong the life of the juice, a lot of nutrients and beneficial enzymes are lost.

What you put in your body is what you get out of it. If you put in yuck, that’s what you’ll get. Choose goodness and not only see the results but FEEL the results.

Join the #3DaystoGreen movement and start incorporating more green into your day!

Do you make your own juice or buy juices? What are your favorites?

I really want to start drinking green smoothies again. I use to and then I moved and my schedule has gotten all thrown off. I need to start doing it again. Hope you're having a great weekend
